Who is Maxx Diamond?
Maxx Diamond lives in Tuscarawas, Ohio, with his wife, two sons, and the ghost of his dead brother, a corrupt clergyman.
As a boy, Maxx and his family made frequent skiing trips to the Canadian Rockies. It was during these long car rides that Diamond first discovered his natural gift for storytelling.
It began with a puppet show for his baby sister, Sarah, where Maxx reenacted the De Niro classic, "Deer Hunter", with only his dirty, right sock, an empty bag of Skittles, and the middle seat belt.
Although, his sister cried or slept through the majority of his Action Adventure show, Maxx was impressed with his unbridled enthusiasm for sadistic, yet humorous, narratives of depression and loss.
By high school, the shelves of his room were stacked, wall-to-wall, with countless notebooks filled with endless scrawls of tall tales and short stories. It resembled something a criminal investigator might expect to find in the dark lair of a serial killer. But, no, it was only 13 year old Maxx's bedroom, decorated otherwise with Batman bedsheets and a Spider-man nightlight.
In 1992, he graduated from high school with mediocre, but satisfactory passing grades. But Maxx left confident that he would soon be writing best sellers and sleeping on a giant bed of money. He was interested though in first exploring new genres in hopes of expanding his storytelling horizons. Sadly, over the next six years Maxx developed a dangerously unhealthy and potentially fatal obsession with Fantasy novels. He also began drawing dragons, elves, sorcerers, and unicorns that he pasted throughout his one bedroom basement suite.
Maxx now refers to those six years as "The Dark Time" and refuses to speak of them. It was not until Maxx met Deloris on an online Fantasy Art/Novel Recovery chat room that he started to turn his life around.
After two weeks of chatting with Deloris he knew he had to meet her. He drove all day and night to her house in Tuscarawas where he finally met Deloris, who, he was relieved to find, was as hot as he had hoped. Grateful, Maxx promptly asked her hand in marriage. Within a month they were married by an Elvis impersonator in the local wedding chapel.
Maxx was excited to get back to writing again but with Deloris now pregnant with twins and he in debt several thousand dollars due to "The Dark Time", Maxx was forced to work long, torturous hours as a Muffinman, in order to make ends meet.
In January 2006, Maxx quit his cursed job as he had finally made enough money to return to his true passion. Thus has come "Bad News Radio". His ongoing tale of loss, love, and triumph - much similar to his own life.
