Don Glover happened to be such an expert. He also happened to own the pet store where the Down's Syndrome cat was purchased. As difficult as it is to spot a retarded cat, Don had seen enough in his 33 years as a pet store owner to identify the symptoms. Knowing no one would buy a genetically mutated pet, he simply chose not to inform the owners of the cat's sickness.

It wasn't the first time Don had pulled off a stunt like this. He once sold a duck with herpes to the children's petting zoo. It was the worst herpes outbreak in Winnipeg history.
